DESCRIPTION:Make sure you’ve marked your calendars to join us at our HNS Industry Demonstration Morning on Thursday\, September 5! \nHere’s our lineup of demonstrations: \n\nCover crops with Sonny Murray\, Perennia\nNon-herbicide weed control equipment with Greg Gerrits\, Elmridge Farm\n\nVanhoucke 15-foot-wide flame weeder – used for stale seedbed preparation. Fully hooded and controlled 100% from the tractor operator’s seat. If you have seen North American-built weed burners you will be amazed at how much farther this Belgian company has taken the technology.\nHAK 15-foot-wide mechanical weed cultivator – it has the ability to cultivate raised beds or flat land\, and is fully adjustable in many ways depending on conditions and the crop size and arrangement. Options include hilling discs\, crop shielding discs\, parallel linked crop shields\, multiple sizes of sweeps\, finger weeders\, soil crust breakers\, and more….\nGarford vision guidance system – a two-camera\, row-following\, side-shift system that mounts between the tractor and weed cultivator. It allows sub-inch row following accuracy at speeds in access of 10 km/h.\nElectrically powered\, six-person weeding cart –  it is 15-feet-wide and allows six people to weed in comfort lying face down. Each person has four feet of forward and reverse movement independent of the other five weeders as the machine crawls down the field.\nGPS controlled sidehill drift reduction (hopefully elimination) system – it may or may not be complete by September 5\, but Greg will at least explain the concept of what they are trying to accomplish.\n\n\nSolar power on the farm with Matt Eye of M.B.
