HNS Minor-Use Priority Setting meeting
December 5, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
It’s that time of year again when we need to set the minor-use priorities for Nova Scotia crops in preparation for the national meeting in Ottawa late March.
This meeting will be a sit-down session to review vegetable and small fruit minor-use priorities for Nova Scotia in the big board room of Perennia at the Kentville Agricultural Centre. There will be a video link to the Perennia Truro office, so any one in the Northern part of the province can go there and participate.
As in the past each crop will be reviewed and assessed as to the priority pest control needs for growers in NS for insect, weeds and diseases; if you have solutions and ideas, please bring those as well.
Schedule:
- Vegetables – 1:00 – 2:30 pm
- Small fruit (Highbush blueberry, strawberry, raspberry) – 2:30 – 4:00pm.
Any grower is encouraged to attend. If you cannot make the meeting, please forward your critical pest issues and any potential solutions, to Peter Burgess, pburgess@perennia.ca, Rosalie Gillis-Madden, rmadden@perennia.ca, or Jennifer Haverstock, jhaverstock@perennia.ca
This prioritization process helps shape the minor-use registration work s done by AAFC and helps provide more tools for growers in the future.
